The power of community mentorship, and what the heck I was doing in Kenya all summer

through the ALN Mentorship Network. A large part of why I was able to accomplish so much during my summer internship with Stawi Foods in Nairobi, Kenya was due to the support I received through the ALN Mentorship Network. Check out this 2 minute video where I describe my use of the ALN network, and what I was able to achieve with the help of: Ahsan Manji – Managing Director for East Africa, Weetabix Alex Okosi – Managing Director, MTV Networks Africa Dorothy Ghettuba – CEO, Spielworks Media…

My husband's private equity firm made two really awesome decisions on Wednesday: 1) hosted their Christmas party at City Hall, and 2) announced that they promoted Matt from Principal to Director. I cannot express how proud I am of you, my love! Well, aside from disobeying your orders and posting this on social media. #sorrynotsorry #tooproudofyou @mbeisen1 When two of your worlds collide in the most amazing way... My sister @edearbornhughes speaking at @asana on how her organizations @akilahinstitute and @daviscollegeglobal benefit from our nonprofit program. Everyone was blown away hearing stories of how our software is leveraged by orgs doing good all around the world. Such an inspiring All Hands (plus I got to hang with my sister at work all day!). Keep up the good work (in Asana)! @togetherwerise @stand.earth @plannedparenthood #asana Can't think of more appropriate timing to move into our first home together - happy, happy Thanksgiving my love! I am beyond grateful for you and our life together. Cheers to the next great adventure and I'm already so excited to host people all the time! Starting with my sister @edearbornhughes and my three nieces and nephew for 5 nights in just a couple weeks ( We totally crushed it at @russiantechweek in Moscow last week. I absolutely love taking @asana global! And presenting onstage with a screen 2.5x my height #asana #productivity #collaboration #globaldomination When your high school classmate grows up to be an actual rocket scientist, you get pretty unreal behind-the-scenes tours of @spacex Thank you @spaceben423 for ensuring our grandchildren will have other planets to live on and basically saving humanity ‍‍‍‍‍‍☄️ #falcon9 Sometimes, you see people casually riding horses through downtown St Petersburg, Russia late at night. And sometimes, you just have to ask how the heck they can do that, even if they don't really speak English. And sometimes, they laugh when you ask if they're police, and then motion for you to get on and give it a try. ❌‍♀️‍♂️So sometimes, you end up riding a horse around St Isaac's Cathedral in downtown St Petersburg late on a Friday night. 🤷‍♀️ ❤️❤️❤️ #urbanhorses #russianriding Life bucket list item: ✅ See a ballet at the Bolshoi in Moscow, Russia to indulge my younger inner ballerina ❤️❤️❤️ #bolshoiballet @bolshoi_theatre Fun fact: Bolshoi means "the big one" in Russian, and the Bolshoi ballet is the largest company in the world with 200 dancers (and arguably the most famous) 🤩 The ballet I saw was the controversial "Nureyev" which documents the life of the famous Soviet male ballet dancer who defected from the USSR in the 1960's and was the most talented dancer of his generation. Russia actually pulled this ballet from production last year due to the sensitive topic... Snow in Red Square, don't care #stbasilscathedral #redsquare #rossiya
